The Illustrated Herbiary by Maia Toll

This is one of the most beautiful witchy books I have ever been gifted. My lovely friend Claire - who is one of the most thoughtful gift givers - gave it to me for Christmas. Did I tear up when I started to leaf trough it? Yes, yes I did.

The illustrations by Kate O’Hara are unbelievably gorgeous and Maia Toll’s Rituals and Reflections are just as captivating. As a Practicing Green Witch, having this is my collection has grounded my practice in ways I couldn’t have expected. But not in the way you might think. I have always been drawn to rituals rather than casting spells. To have a book filled with rituals of different kinds, reflections, plant meanings and information that have all let me go deeper into my practice, means the book is never far away from my hands.

And then there are the oracle cards included with the book. Each corresponds to a reflection all with a shared purpose of giving the reader an immersive, meditative and grounded practice. And I can safely say this book and the cards do just that.

And if you have any doubt that this book and the cards are magical, when I was taking these photos, I picked two random pages to shoot because I could never have chosen between them. I then pulled three cards from the gorgeous pouch at the back, and two of the cards correlated directly the two - and only - pages I had just shot. Sometimes, you just can’t make these things up
